From Halloween Nig…

We just through with Halloween. The Wife made the kids costumes from scratch. How cool is that? They got lots of compliments and lots of candy. More Halloween pictures if you click on the photo. And if you want to see my PTA Halloween pix, click here. Can we just dispense with the Halloween stuff and move on to Thanksgiving now, please?

Enough With The Serial Killers Already

So I’m waching this new TV show Showtime called DEXTER (no I don’t have Showtime cable but that’s a whole other story…), about a serial killer who only kills other serail killers, with the wife who is very enthusiastic about the show because by day Dexter is a crime-scene blood-spatter analyst and the wife’s Forensics students love this stuff, and after Dexter kills like the second serial killer in one hour just in Miami, I have to wonder out loud, exactly how many serial killers are there supposed to be out there? I mean with your CSI this and your CSI that and Criminal Intents and your Hannibals and the new Zodiac movie… I mean, come on! According to this Wikipedia article, there are only 35 serial killers in the United States at any one time. And now I guess there’s 32! And why are people so interested in this stuff? Are they trying to tell me that everyone secretly wants to be a serial killer and just hack people up leave cryptic messages for the cops? Don’t people have better things to do wth their time than watch this stuff? This is the first show of it’s kind I’ve seen and I’m already tired of it!

Aren’t there any shows about PTA Presidents putting on Halloween parties and the stress they go through? Or how about more shows like last week’s LOST, where Kate takes a nice long shower? I tell ya, this world is going to heck in a handbasket. Now, if you don’t mind, I have to get back to something more palatable…like that show about the Mormon with three wives…

A Plague Upon My Houses

October 12th, 2006 by Izumino

Look–I understand the flies. We had these fruit flies shwoing up in the kitchen, and we scrubbed the place from top to bottom, and still the little buggers we’re flying around. So we ran this special stuff through the garbage disposal. No dice. Then, finally, we found the culprit–an onion, long forgotten, way back in the cupboard, many feet from the kitchen. Yuck! We cleaned that up. But still they came! We read up on fruit flies and, sure enough, once the little stinking things start, they are rather difficult to get rid of, until the cold weather comes.

So today, the cold weather comes – 35 degrees! Hoorah. Except… Except… Except the g*dd*mn dog ran outside, at 5 AM while I wasgetting the paper, startled a skunk, and it sprayed near the house, and when we woke up later we thought the furnace had caught on fire, or the compressor in the fridge had blown. When our son got to Day Care, after we left, they changed his clothes–we couldn’t smell it, because I guess we all smelled the same. Aaargh! Now the windows are all open to the freezing air, killing the last of the flies, letting out the odiferousnous.

A plague upon our houses! Verily unto us the God’s weath has fallen! We are forlorn! Forsaken! And it frickin’ stinks! What’s next–locusts??
